As the Senior Field Solutions Architect specializing in AWS, you will collaborate with customers, CDW Sales, and various cross-functional teams at AWS and CDW to develop cloud architectures that solve business challenges and promote the adoption of CDW services within the AWS ecosystem. Working alongside the sales team, you will contribute to revenue growth across a diverse range of clients. As a trusted advisor, you will guide organizations on best practices for advanced cloud solutions.  

You will be instrumental in crafting and implementing a strategy to increase awareness and utilization of CDW and AWS services. This position is key to advancing our cloud strategy, designing comprehensive cloud solutions, and establishing thought leadership within our company. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical knowledge, exceptional leadership abilities, and a dedication to cloud technology advancement. 

 
 
Core Responsibilities 
 

• Build deep relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor for their most critical workloads that support their digital transformation and journey to the cloud. 

• Achieve and exceed revenue goals by supporting and executing strategies in collaboration with the sales team that drive the adoption and migration of applications, software, and services in AWS using CDW Canada services. 

• Propose and advocate for the creation and development of services and solutions for our AWS business, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and market demands. 

• Maintain knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in cloud technology and AWS, sharing insights and knowledge to inform strategy and solution development. 

• Mentor and support junior solutions architects, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. 

• Design solutions for customers using the most effective mix of vendor-partner solutions through deep understanding of cloud best practices with CDW Canada’s partner ecosystem. 

• Act as an ambassador for CDW Canada’s technical solutions in the AWS landscape, fostering and maintaining robust relationships with AWS technical stakeholders. 

• Play a pivotal role in the governance structure of the AWS practice, including participation in monthly and quarterly business reviews to drive continuous improvement. 

• Conduct deep-dive “hands-on” education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering, or already using Cloud services 

• Provide technical guidance and support to team members on cloud architecture, best practices, and emerging technologies. 

Required Qualifications  
 

• Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, database migrations, and technology management required 

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional 

• The technical aptitude and experience to learn new technologies and understand relevant trends 

• Competitive Landscape: Knowledge of competitive cloud ecosystems preferred 

• Partners: Understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer needs preferred 

• Minimum 10 years experience in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications required 

• Minimum 2 years experience of mentoring team members 

• Relationship Building. Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior IT executives in large or highly strategic accounts. 

• Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects required Problem Solving. 

• Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 

• Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful implementation of customer projects. 

• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineer or related field preferred
