Core Responsibilities 
  • Assist with the message & strategy for Security practice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify key partnerships and work with the internal Product and Partner Management team developing positioning and messages in market 
  • Training of sales and technical teams on messages and core offerings 
  • Designing complex solutions for primary technology products and services 
  • Maintaining knowledge of technology offerings from key focus partners and strategic vendors
  • Building strong relationships with CDW’s strategic partners and customers 

Pre-Sales Responsibilities 
  • Follows up and responds to questions regarding registrations and closed deals, and escalation needs 
  • Manages pipeline of strategic opportunities tied to the security practice 
  • Registers and manages customer proposals in partner registration systems 
  • Produces quotes and bill-of-materials for opportunities 
  • Provides technical expertise for RFPs and/or assists with RFP content 
  • Discusses solutions at a conceptual level with current customers and prospects  
  • Collaborates with Partners and Account Managers to map accounts to opportunities and achieve assigned goals 
  • Assists with territory planning and strategic sales motions 
  • Responds to customers and Account Manager technical queries  
  • Participates in CDW events on business-focused technology solution presentations for customers and prospects delivered via web-based tools (e.g., WebEx, Lync) and in person 
  • Sharing technical knowledge with stakeholders about cyber security products and solutions including next generation firewalls, email security, endpoint security, cloud products, SIEM, etc. 

Other Responsibilities  
  • 20% travel
  • Technical selling and presales support for technologies, solutions and services 
  • Demonstrating technical knowledge in relevant practice area 
  • Maintaining knowledge and proven success of engaging and working with sales teams 
  • Executing on territory goals and metrics set by (senior) management
  • Adapting to the business needs of the practice and changing team requirements 
  • Maintain partnership required certifications and accreditations 


Minimum Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience 
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field of information technology 
  • Vendor certifications or accreditations – Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall, Palo Alto, Splunk
  • Security industry certifications – (ISC)2, ISACA, CompTia, etc. 
  • Ability to map product strategies to the OSI & TCP/IP stack 
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, including consulting skills 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong passion for learning and teaching others 
  • Proven group presentations skills 
  • Strong problem-solving skills 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with coworkers

Desired Skills and Experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in the field of information technology
  • Understanding of Information Security and associated policies  
  • Experience in IT Security Standards and Governance (PCI, ISO 27001, COBIT) 
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks
