When people ask me “Why have you spent 13 years at CDW Canada?” the answer is simple. It’s the PEOPLE, the MISSION and the IMPACT

THE PEOPLE

Throughout my tenure, I have had the privilege of working with a remarkably talented team from all over the world and it is impossible to overstate how thankful I am to every colleague and leader who has invested in my professional development. The word family gets used a lot at CDW and for me I am proud to say that many of my most meaningful and powerful relationships are with current and former colleagues. Over the years, we have celebrated many successes and milestones in our personal and professional lives and also been there to support and care for each other during times of need. The passion, grit and competitive spirit of the CDW family is what fuels my motivation and desire to be the best version of myself every single day. Plain and simple, the true strength of CDW is and always will be our amazing people.

THE MISSION

One of my most vivid memories from the beginning of my career in the CDW Sales Academy was hearing our leadership team lay out their bold vision and the collective mission we were all a part of. At the time, we were a relatively small organization in Etobicoke but everyone inside the walls of 10 Carlson Court understood that it wasn’t a matter of if, but simply a matter of when we would become the top solution provider in Canada. For an ultra-competitive recent University grad with a BSc in Biology and no real sales experience, these messages were music to my ears. Armed with core values like “Everything we do revolves around the customer” and “People do business with people they like” our strategy was to build long term partnerships with our clients by always delivering on our commitments and consistently exceeding their expectations. The vision became reality as year after year we delighted more customers, added more talented colleagues and invested heavily in our managed and professional services practices. Earlier this year we were named the #1 Solution Provider for the 6th time in 7 years by Channel Daily News (CDN) and reflecting on where the company and I started makes these types of accomplishments even sweeter.

THE IMPACT

At this point in my life, my top two professional priorities are to feed an insatiable growth mindset and amplify my impact. Early in my career my impact was centered around my clients and my teammates, but as I grew into leadership and later spent time in various departments it allowed me to rethink my impact and dream bigger. Currently, my focus is to find and nurture the brightest technical minds and enable them to solve our customers most complicated hybrid cloud, security, digital transformation and collaboration challenges. Based on the size and scale of our business and our end to end capabilities, we are uniquely positioned to have a positive impact on the lives of all Canadians. When our team helps our healthcare clients innovate and provide better patient experience, my family and all Canadians benefit. When our team helps our education clients digitally transform and provide higher quality education, my children and all Canadian children benefit. When our Corporate sales teams enable clients of all shapes and sizes to leverage the Hybrid Cloud to deliver better business outcomes, it can improve so many different aspects of our lives.

Clearly, 2020 is not the year that anyone wanted but as an optimist and a dreamer, I strongly believe the best is yet to come.
